| James R. Huntsberger of Greenville,
Delaware, has painted in oils since 1946. In 1988, he began to sell his
original oils, which are now in private and corporate collections internationally. A
Brandywine Collector has published his limited edition prints since 1988 and his Giclée replicas since 2000. Thus far his
originals have all been oils. Subject matter is broad including portraits,
seascapes, beach scenes, landscapes, still life and historical structures (both interiors
and exteriors). He has experimented with unusual subject matter and abstracts but
remains essentially a "realist." He accepts commission assignments.
Art collectors are familiar with his Brandywine Valley scenes. His
painting, "Grand Opera House II", has been chosen as the program book cover for
the 2001-2004 seasons of The Grand Opera House in Wilmington, Delaware.
Huntsberger has received many prizes for his oil
paintings. He was selected to membership in the Philadelphia Sketch Club in 1991and
the Oil Painters of America in 1999. He is a member of the Portrait Society of
America and the Delaware Foundation for the Visual Arts.
His work is available on this website, at juried and
charity art shows in the Brandywine Valley, and at more than 60 galleries in the United
States.
