| These two wooden sailing ships were docked in the river at Wiscasset,
Maine in the early 1930's because their owner lost his shipping business in the economic
depression. Over the years, the ships, "Luther" and "Hesper"
became a Wiscasset landmark. They were finally destroyed in a storm in 1990.
